AI that prepares the work. A person approves it.

Yako uses AI in two places. Ask Yako, included with every workspace, answers questions about your numbers. The Bookkeeper agent, an optional add-on in early access, does the routine bookkeeping and leaves every item for a person to approve. Neither one ever posts to your books by itself.

Ask Yako: included with every workspace

Ask Yako opens from any page in a workspace and has two assistants:

  • Financial analyst. Ask in plain English: how is the business doing, are we overdue on VAT, what is driving costs this year, do we depend too much on one customer. It answers by querying your actual ledger, not by guessing, and says where to check the figures. It stays neutral and never tries to sell you anything. Questions that need a licensed professional go to your accountant or adviser.
  • Product guide. Ask how to do something in Yako and it gives you the steps.

Both are read-only. They explain and report; they never change your books.

The Bookkeeper agent: what it does

You hire the Bookkeeper agent for one workspace. It works through your bank lines as statements arrive and once a day:

  • Codes transactions to the right account when it’s reasonably sure, with its reasoning and a confidence level; when it isn’t sure, it leaves a suggestion instead.
  • Matches payments to open invoices and bills, tags customers and vendors, and pairs transfers between your own accounts so they don’t count as income and expense.
  • Raises questions about the same line imported twice, a possible double charge, or an amount far above what you usually pay that payee.
  • Keeps a month-end checklist: statements in for every account, every line coded and approved, large expenses documented, bank accounts reconciled, the month locked.
  • Lists receipts to chase for large expenses with nothing behind them.
  • Emails your team for what it needs, where switched on: a missing statement, an answer about a line, a receipt. Reply to the email and the answer or file lands on exactly that item.
  • Sends a weekly report to owners and admins: what it did, how much of its work you approved as-is, what’s waiting and what got in its way.

What it never does

  • It never posts to your books. Coding a line is preparation; only a person’s approval posts it.
  • It never approves its own work, or anyone’s.
  • It never sees another workspace. Hiring it for three companies means three separate hires.
  • It doesn’t touch lines in a closed period, or lines you told it to leave alone.

Reviewing its work

Everything the agent prepares waits in one Review page. Lines that need a closer look come first and open expanded: a new payee, an account that differs from how your team usually codes that payee, a large amount, or anything it wasn’t confident about. Those are never approved in bulk. Routine lines that match how you usually code can be approved together after you confirm the count and total.

For each line you can approve, change the account, or mark it not right and say why. Every decision can be undone straight after. The agent’s track record (how much of its work people approved as-is over the last 30 days) is shown on its card, so you can judge it on evidence.

Early access, and honest about mistakes

The Bookkeeper agent is in early access and it can make mistakes. That’s why its work is always checked before it’s approved, by you, your bookkeeper or your accountant. It works alongside them; it doesn’t replace them.

Your data

Your data is never used to train AI models. The AI behind Yako is provided through Anthropic’s API, which doesn’t train on API data. Separately, you can choose to share anonymous feedback about your review decisions (approved or changed, and why) to help improve the agent. It is off unless you turn it on, and amounts, descriptions, account names, customers and vendors are never shared.

Price and how to get it

  • US$50 per workspace per month, $142.50 per quarter, or $510 per year.
  • It’s an optional add-on to the workspace plan. Yako works fully without it.
  • It’s arranged through sales for now: products@casialab.com.
