Bookkeeper agent · Early access
Your books are always behind. Hire someone who keeps them.
Late closes. Bank lines that never get coded. Receipts that go missing. Surprises when tax time comes. The Yako Bookkeeper works through your books every week, prepares what needs a decision, and waits for a person. You approve. Nothing reaches the ledger until someone does.
Added to a Yako company. Stop any time. It works to the end of what you’ve paid.

Why hire
When the books run behind, the business pays for it.
Month-end slips because the bank lines are still open. Transfers look like income on one side and expense on the other. Large spends sit without a receipt. Tax time turns into a scramble for what should already be in the books. And someone — usually you — spends evenings catching up on work a bookkeeper should have done weeks ago.
That is time you cannot sell, and money you only find when it is too late to recover cleanly.
A part-time bookkeeper or a few accountant hours a month is what most operators pay to keep this from piling up. The Bookkeeper agent is built for that same routine work, inside Yako, at a flat price per company. It prepares. A person still approves, and a person still files.
After you hire
The routine work runs every week. Decisions stay with you.
Once you hire it for a company, it starts when a statement arrives and checks for new lines once a day. It codes what it can, proposes matches where one invoice or bill fits, pairs your own transfers, and flags duplicates and odd amounts. Large expenses without a receipt show up on a list. A close checklist for last month stays current.
Everything waits on one Review page. You, your finance manager or your accountant approve, change or answer. Nothing posts until a person does. Your outside accountant or auditor can be invited for the work and the period, at no extra cost — they see what it prepared and who approved it.
It is in early access and it can make mistakes. That is why a person checks its work before anything is approved.
Its week
Monday to Friday in your books.
A statement lands. It works. You decide.
1. Codes every line it can, and says why.
Each bank line gets an account from your own chart, with its reasoning and how sure it is. When it isn't sure enough, it leaves a suggestion instead. When it really doesn't know, it asks.
2. Proposes payment matches.
Where exactly one open invoice or bill fits a bank line, it proposes the match and tags the customer or vendor, with why.
3. Pairs your transfers.
Money moved between your own accounts is paired up, so it never shows as income on one side and an expense on the other.
4. Flags duplicates and odd amounts.
The same line imported twice. The same payee charged the same amount twice in three days. A payment about three times what you usually pay that payee. Each one becomes a question, with what it noticed and what to do.
5. Keeps the month-end checklist.
Last month, item by item: statements in, lines coded and approved, questions answered, receipts in, accounts reconciled, the month locked. Each item links to where you fix it.
6. Chases receipts by email.
Large expenses with no receipt or bill behind them, largest first — and it emails your team for the receipt, the missing statement or the answer it needs. Reply to the email and it lands on exactly that line.
7. Sends a weekly report to owners and admins.
A Monday email covering what it did, how much was approved as-is, what is waiting for you, what got in its way, and what remains on its list.
Ask it on WhatsApp.
Questions, filings and approvals with reply buttons, and a full read-back after every filing with Undo.
You’re the boss. It reports to you.
It prepares. A person approves.
Keep the accountant you like. Stop waiting on them for the routine work. They still decide, and they still file.

Questions
Does it replace my accountant?+
No. It does the routine bookkeeping and leaves every decision to a person: you, your finance manager or your accountant. It prepares the work. A person still approves and files.
Can it post anything to my books by itself?+
No. Only a person's approval posts a journal, and that approval is stamped with their name. The agent can't approve, including its own work.
What if it gets something wrong?+
You change the account or mark it not right and say why. Every decision can be undone straight after. Its track record over the last 30 days is on its card.
How does it get my bank lines?+
From the statements you upload to Yako, as PDF, CSV or Excel. It starts when a statement arrives and checks for new lines once a day.
I have several companies. How does it work?+
You hire it for each company separately, at $50 per company per month. Each hire sees only its own company's books.
Do I need a Yako plan?+
Yes. The agent works inside a Yako company.
Is my data used to train AI?+
No. The Bookkeeper runs on a commercial AI service that doesn't train its models on your data. It sees only what it needs to do the work. Your books stay in your Yako account.
How do I stop it?+
Turn off renewal any time. It keeps working to the end of what you've paid, then stops. Your books stay exactly as your team approved them.
Your books, kept every week.
